want to hear ...

First, yes, I would also like to hear more about the ins-and-outs of Vista and UAC.

Second, maybe this is not the right forum for this, but ... two observations ...
* Right-double click does not work in many contexts. There is still a preference setting, but it typically does not work.
* My scenario at home is somewhat unusual. Most of the time at home I use a location with no Domino server. I use the Notes client as a POP3/SMTP client with my ISP mail. Starting in R8/R8.0.1, the client frequently tries to contact my ISP even though my mail is set to be local. At various times, it will pause for 20 seconds saying something like "waiting for response from BellSouth". The times I know this happens include everytime I send/save an e-mail and when working with appointments in the calendar. This is true even though my mailfile is local and my location specifies no-Domino-server.
